Blessure is derived from the words business and pleasure. For years now, corporate events have been strictly for business purposes. In the recent past though, we have seen a shift of this perception, where corporate clients are mixing both business and pleasure.
After all, gone are the days when corporate clients would be stuck in their boring hotel rooms
downing mugs of coffee or glasses of wine after conferences or business events. The new corporate client is seeking new experiences during his business mode hence the blessure trend.
Event planners are incorporating this theme in corporate events by;
1. Curating the programme of the event to involve more fun and healthy activities. For example introducing a cocktail networking event after a long working session, a themed dinner for all the participants or even fun workout activities eg. yoga , aerobics or zumba sessions .
2. Booking corporate clients in hotels which have health clubs and other fun activities planned in the hotel day to day activities. This will make them access amenities like gyms, massage parlours, saunas, casinos or VIP Bars. That karaoke that plays over the weekend makes so much difference for the corporate client.
3. Event planners are also incorporating a social programme as an extension of the main event especially for the foreign guests where they can have a tour of the city the event is taking place, site seeing, shopping sprees for the shopaholics and guided night club experiences for the party animals. All these in a bid to create
that ambiance of pleasure within the business arena.
Next time when planning a corporate event think about your participant who is seeking for the experience.
